A very special herd of colourful elephants has arrived in Dorset for 8 weeks.

The Stampede By The Sea Trail is a new, free and interactive way to explore the stunning landscapes of west Dorset while supporting the incredible work of Weldmar Hospicecare.

Along the trail you'll find over 59 unique elephant sculptures located in and around Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis.

This engaging trail brings together creativity, community, and a celebration of the region. Each elephant has been designed by talented artists, and is sponsored by local businesses.

Explore the Trail

The elephants are placed along a scenic route through west Dorset, taking in coastal vistas, historic towns and family-friendly attractions.

It’s a fantastic way cost-free way for families to get outdoors and spend quality time together - especially over the Easter school holidays.

Each elephant will have scannable QR codes with offers, activities and competitions for attendees to participate in - everything from guessing the number of plankton on an elephant to winning a family pass to Mapperton House and Gardens!

The trail is open from 28 March to 27 May 2025. A map of the elephant locations will be available online at stampedebythesea.org and also on the trail mobile App too.

Printed maps will be available to collect from The Salt House in West Bay, Hive Beach Cafe in Burton Bradstock, and Weldmar Hospicecare charity shops in Bridport and Lyme Regis.

Get all the latest news and follow the herd on Facebook or Instagram.
