Sun, sand and sea

Weymouth beach really does offer time-honoured seaside fun for everyone, whether you’re aged 8 months or 80 years!

Shriek with laughter at Punch & Judy, bounce high on the trampolines, have fun on the children’s rides and donkeys and visit fantastic attractions such as the Sealife Park.

There’s plenty to relax you too; wander along the level promenade, hire a pedalo or a deckchair and enjoy a lazy lunch at one of the Esplanade café’s.

At the pretty Greenhill Gardens you can treat yourself to an ice cream whilst listening to the live entertainment before testing your skills on the tennis court and putting green.

The views from the bay are spectacular, stretching across the horizon taking in the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline.

Blue Flag and seaside award

We think Weymouth beach is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches but you don't just have to our word for it!  Weymouth beach has been awarded the Blue Flag and Seaside Award recognising it as one of the safest, cleanest and very best in the country.  Environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy announced Weymouth Beach as one of 76 beaches in England to have won a coveted Blue Flag and Seaside Award for 2021. To be considered for the awards, beaches must meet the highest environmental standards, as well as the tough international bathing water quality standards so you can be sure you won't be disappointed!

Sit and watch the world go by at Weymouth Harbour

Situated at the heart of the town is Weymouth’s bustling harbour where you can sit and watch the boats come and go and see the historic bridge lifting.

The pretty and traditional old harbour, offers plenty for the visitor to see and do including the Nothe Gardens, where visitors watched the Olympic Sailing events in 2012 and Brewers Quay, an antiques emporium with a number of traders selling antique and vintage furniture, clothing, objets d'art, militaria, jewellery and artwork.

Come evening, enjoy the catch-of-the-day at one of the waterside restaurants or bistros and toast the sunset with a glass of champagne.

The harbourside is a favourite venue for events and festivals throughout the year including the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival which takes place every July.

This fabulous free event grows year on year and offers a wide variety of mouth-watering seafood dishes and chef demonstrations.
