Fun for the family
Lyme Regis is the perfect place for some family fun. There's never a dull moment in Lyme Regis, with a jam-packed calendar of events to keep all ages entertained.
Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week is a week full of fun with displays, music, family games...the list goes on! There's also Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Week with lots of activities and events including the carnival procession, regatta races and competitions.
If you visit during the autumn, make sure you don’t miss the annual Lyme Regis fireworks’ display and Bonfire Night. Join the crowds to watch the fireworks over the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ Lyme Bay, with the Cobb as a specular background and keep warm by the bonfire on the beach afterwards.
Fossiling fun
With Lyme Regis being a treasure trove for fossils, why wouldn’t there be a festival to celebrate them?! The annual Fossil and Earth Science Festival is one of Dorset's largest science festivals and is a great event for the whole family with talks, exhibitions, fantastic street performances, hands-on experiences and interactive displays. With something for all ages, this is a weekend to have some fossil-tastic fun.
Marvellous music
Whatever gets you shaking your stuff, there are plenty of music events to get you moving and grooving in Lyme Regis!
Folk fans can enjoy a full programme of singing, dancing and music-making at various venues across the town during Lyme Regis Folk Weekend.
Winter festivities
During the Christmas festivities, Lyme Regis is a wonderful place to visit during the festive season. In the run up to Christmas, the shops will be brimming with gift ideas or you can take time to breathe in the bracing sea air with a stroll along the seafront and perhaps coffee and a mince pie in one of the lovely cafes? To make it even more special, Lyme's picturesque Broad Street will be positively sparkling from the end of November.
There are also many Christmas events throughout the month of December, visit Lyme Marine Theatre to watch a Christmas film, enjoy one of the many carol singing events or catch a Christmas concert – there is something for everyone to get into the Christmas spirit.
