Lyme Regis is the perfect place for some family fun. There's never a dull moment in Lyme Regis, with a jam-packed calendar of events to keep all ages entertained.
Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week is a week full of fun with displays, music, family games...the list goes on! There's also Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Week with lots of activities and events including the carnival procession, regatta races and competitions.
If you visit during the autumn, make sure you don’t miss the annual Lyme Regis fireworks’ display and Bonfire Night. Join the crowds to watch the fireworks over the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ Lyme Bay, with the Cobb as a specular background and keep warm by the bonfire on the beach afterwards.
With Lyme Regis being a treasure trove for fossils, why wouldn’t there be a festival to celebrate them?! The annual Fossil and Earth Science Festival is one of Dorset's largest science festivals and is a great event for the whole family with talks, exhibitions, fantastic street performances, hands-on experiences and interactive displays. With something for all ages, this is a weekend to have some fossil-tastic fun.
Eat: Lyme Regis is a glorious weekend full of fantastic local fresh food, delicious drinks and hopefully some sunshine mixed in.
Celebrity chef Mark Hix hosts his very own Food Rocks Festival in September to celebrate the fantastic produce that the South West has to offer. With cookery demonstrations, competitions and foodie fun you’ll have a jam-packed weekend full of delicious delights.
