Weymouth has a rich heritage and history that is celebrated by a number of themed events held in the town.
Celebrate the areas military history with the Armed Forces Day Celebrations or go back in time and celebrate Weymouth’s swashbuckling past with the Pirate Day at Nothe Fort.

Food glorious food
Weymouth provides the location for a number of fabulous food events with none more popular than SeaFeast - The Dorset Seafood Festival. With Over 80 stalls, mouth-watering seafood menus and celebrity chef demonstrations, we guarantee that you will sample some of the most wonderful seafood found anywhere.
In July, the Food and Family Festival located at Lodmoor Country Park is a fantastic event celebrating local and regional foods whilst entertaining members of the whole family. Its the perfect event for food lovers who can try and buy from an incredible range of local and regional products whilst making memories with the family.
Going for gold in Weymouth
Weymouth’s fantastic location and stunning natural surroundings provides the perfect backdrop for some top level events. For this reason it was selected at one of the host locations outside of London for the 2012 Olympic Games, hosting the sailing events on its world class sailing waters.
If it’s out on the water, on its golden sands or along the famous esplanade, Weymouth offers the perfect venue. The town welcomes many top level marathons and triathlons throughout the year and is one the regular stops for the Ironman and Bustinskin events series. Don’t worry if you don’t think you’re up to competing, take your place in the crowd and cheer on the competitors!
