Dolphin Shopping Centre
Poole has the benefit from having both indoor and outdoor shopping areas. Head inside to the Dolphin Centre for all your big-name brands – selling everything from clothes and shoes to jewellery and chocolates. You’ll also find Beale’s Department Store, which is packed with everything you could possibly need during your holiday to Poole.
The Dolphin Shopping Centre is conveniently located next to Poole Bus Station and opposite The Lighthouse Arts Centre, so you can easily match your shopping trip with a matinee show or afternoon movie in their cinema.
Outside on Poole’s pedestrianised High Street you’ll find a mix of well-known brands and independent shops. The High Street stretches all the way from the Dolphin Centre to Poole Old Town and the Quay, and it will take approx. 15 minutes to walk from one end to the other.
Mixed in-between the shops you’ll find cafés, restaurants and pubs waiting for you to call in for some lunch or tea and cake.
Poole Old Town and Quay
As you walk from the High Street towards Poole Quay, you’ll pass through the Old Town – filled with quaint little shops, traditional pubs and modern bistros.
Buildings at this end of town date back to the 18th Century Georgian era and the charming cobble-lined streets give it a real 'olde-worlde' feel.
On the Quay, you’ll find gift and souvenirs alongside Pavers Shoes and a Poole Pottery outlet shop. Perhaps you’ll grab a coffee or ice-cream and wander along the waterfront dreaming of owning one of the huge super-yachts in the marina – let’s hope you remembered to buy your lottery ticket this week!
The story of popular clothing, footwear and accessories brand Brakeburn began in Poole. Their team of designers draw on Poole’s beautiful surroundings as inspiration for their hand drawn prints and unique detailing.
