Visit Dorset Business Support Hub Quality gradings & awards
Award schemes and independent star rating assessments are an excellent way to benchmark your business and gain valuable external feedback each year. By taking a closer look at how your business is evolving within an ever-changing marketplace, you can identify opportunities for improvement, attract new customers, and strengthen your competitive advantage. Achieving recognised awards or star ratings also provides powerful marketing opportunities, helping to build customer confidence, enhance your reputation, and set your business apart from competitors.
Quality Assurance and Accreditation
Visit Dorset supports a range of recognised quality assurance and accreditation schemes that help visitors book with confidence and encourage businesses to maintain high standards. These include the VisitEngland Quality Assurance Scheme, the AA Quality Assessment Scheme, and the Visitor Ready digital accreditation scheme.
These schemes continue to be valued by many visitors as trusted indicators of quality, service and professionalism.
Businesses that are not currently participating in an accredited scheme can still work with Visit Dorset, provided they are willing to comply with and sign the Visit Dorset Accommodation Charter.
Awards and Recognition
Dorset is home to many award-winning tourism businesses, with several going on to achieve recognition at national and international level. These successes not only celebrate excellence within individual businesses but also generate positive publicity for Dorset as a visitor destination.
We are proud supporters of the Dorset Tourism Awards and have been delighted to sponsor the awards and celebrate the achievements of our members at the annual awards ceremony.
