Visit Dorset Business Support Hub PR & Media

We're here to help

We endeavour to assist as many press visits as we can who are looking to promote Dorset to a wide and varied audience. Some of the help we provide includes; advice and information, itinerary planning, connections with partners and local businesses, facts and figures and discretionary media rates.

We are always happy to help when possible, so please contact us, giving as much notice as you can (at least 2 weeks if possible), so that we can provide you with tailored support and guidance for your enquiry.

If you are a writer, journalist or blogger, please give us as much detail as you can, including your editorial brief, circulation, social media reach, date of visit and information about what type of assistance you are looking for.

Planning your visit

To be as helpful as possible, we have created suggested itineraries, as well as factsheets and ideas for written content features.

A selection of Dorset images are available through the Visit Britain image library, which you may use free of charge for online editorial uses after registration. Visit Dorset also has an online image library where you can download photos of Dorset once you have registered by email.

If you are looking for a specific location image or high resolution images for print publications, we can help connect you with professional photographers based in Dorset.

We have produced an A-Z of locations within Dorset giving contact details for landowners, managing agents and press officers so that you can make direct contact with the correct people to gain permissions for filming (including the use of drones), photographs and press visits.

We kindly ask you tag our social media accounts and include the hashtag #visitdorset so we can share with our followers.

Film and TV

Dorset has been the star of many famous film and TV productions, including ITV’s multiple BAFTA winning crime drama 'Broadchurch', Christopher Nolan’s 'Dunkirk' and the recent period drama 'On Chesil Beach'.

Film-makers, poets and writers have all been captivated and had their imaginations charged by the outstanding beauty of Dorset’s landscape and coastline and it’s easy to see why.

For filming enquiries please email filmdorset@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk. You can find further details on the Dorset Council website.
