Plan ahead to pitch up
With over 100 campsites in Dorset, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect place to pitch up. From rustic, back to basics sites all the way up to multi-award winning holiday parks, there is something for all budgets. Some of them even have their own swimming pools too!
If you didn’t already know, camping outside of a campsite without landowners permission is illegal, so be sure to plan ahead and book your camping pitch in advance.
Just Park
Whether you are day tripping or staying on holiday, our car parks, especially the ones closest to our beautiful beaches, get really busy on sunny days.
We’d recommend planning in advance where you are going to park and having a Plan B, so if you arrive and the car park is already full, then you’ve already got a back-up plan ready. No one wants to be stuck in the car with dogs barking, kids crying, everyone needing the loo and not knowing where to park up.
If you are visiting in the east of the county, the Beach Check app not only tells you which are the quietest beaches, but also gives information about car parks too. The app is currently available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
New for 2021, you can now use Just Park to pay for parking in many of Dorset’s car parks. Aside from not needing to carry round a load change for the parking machine, it also means that you can add extra time for parking from wherever you are, without having to return to the car park. Imagine another few hours of soaking up the sun on one of our gorgeous beaches without having to get up off your beach towel!
