You are here: Things To Do > Worbarrow Bay
Worbarrow Bay is found a short walk (1 mile or 20 minutes) from Tyneham village or via the South West Coast Path from Lulworth Cove or Kimmeridge. The Bay and surrounding coastline is part of the Jurassic Coast - designated by UNESCO as England's only natural World Heritage Site.
The South West Coast Path runs along this part of coastline from Studland Bay in the east all the way to Minehead in Somerset. This area is also part of the Lulworth Army Ranges and two suggested walking routes can be downloaded from the Ministry of Defence website.
Worbarrow Bay and Tyneham village are managed by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and therefore access is limited to most weekends and school holidays. To find exact opening dates and times for Tyneham village, Worbarrow Bay and the Range Walks, go to Lulworth Ranges and Tyneham Information.
Remember, Tyneham and Worbarrow are part of the Ministry of Defence Lulworth Ranges so if walking to Worbarrow Bay you must keep to the paths marked with yellow posts at all times.
Dogs are welcome at Tyneham village and Worbarrow Bay.
Because the Bay is not that easy to get to, it can be lovely and quiet and a wonderful place to have a picnic or just enjoy being at one with nature.
You will find car parking (charge applies) and toilets at Tyneham village. Please note, because roads to the village are narrow, access for minibuses and coaches is very restricted and must be pre-arranged. Tel: 01929 404712.
For any further information please phone 01929 404714.
