South Haven Point (at Studland in Dorset) marks the start (or finish) of the 630 mile South West Coast Path - the UK's longest National Trail.
For serious walkers the Trail offers a challenging and rewarding walk, taking around 8 weeks. To get a taste, why not walk a short stretch in Dorset to experience stunning and inspirational landscapes, heritage and wildlife?

Studland village to Old Harry – a 3.8 mile round walk to Old Harry Rocks, which are impressive chalk stacks, and the top of Ballard Down with fantastic views over Poole Harbour and Swanage Bay. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/45/
Durlston Clifftop trail - 1 mile walk round walk with stunning views and one steepish climb. A tramper mobility scooter can be borrowed from Durlston Castle Visitor Centre. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/68/
Spyway car park to Swanage – a 5.4 mile one way walk, catching the bus back. If you want to swim in the pool cut into Dancing Ledge, check the tides! https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/317/
St. Aldhelms Head – 5.1 mile round walk from Worth Matravers car park, including Winspit Quarry and St. Aldhelm’s Chapel. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/61/
Tyneham village and Flower’s Barrow – 4 miles. Round walk. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/77/
Durdle Door and White Nothe – 7 miles. Challenging round walk from Lulworth Cove car park including the world famous Durdle Door. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/60/
Portland South – 5.4 miles. Round walk from Wakeham car park past Portland Bill lighthouse, with views across to the mainland cliffs. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/621/
Hive Beach – 1.9 miles. Round walk from Hive Beach car park, taking in Burton Cliff; a dramatic tower of Bridport Sands. https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk/walksdb/79/
