There is nothing more thrilling than the excitement of a live theatre production. The nervous energy and expectation of the audience provides a magical evening of entertainment.
Dorset plays host to a number wonderfully unique theatres hosting performances by large scale West End productions to community lead projects.
Dorset’s network of large theatres including the Bournemouth International Centre, Poole’s Lighthouse Theatre and the Weymouth Pavilion all provide an extensive year round calendar of shows and performances of major touring companies that bring a bit of the glitz glamour of London’s theatre land to Dorset.
We also have number of charming uniquely intimate theatres within our towns and villages that provide a warming community feel. Many of the performances to be enjoyed are stage by local clubs and arts groups giving a delightful feel of grass roots theatre.
During the warmer months Dorset provides some stunning location for its much loved outdoor theatre productions. Wonderful location such as Brownsea Island and Athelhampton House offer the backdrop for some superb performances.
What could be better than settling down with your picnic and a glass of something bubbly to watch Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream or any one of a number of astonishing productions!

Country Park/Nature Reserve
