It has fantastic links to the west towards Charmouth and Lyme Regis and to the east, Dorchester and Weymouth, all of which are only a short journey away by bus or car. And with West Bay being located on the South West Coast Path, you can walk for miles in either direction for amazing views of this world class coastline.

Wonderful West Bay

Just a mile to the south of Bridport is West Bay - a charming fishing village located on one of the most dramatic stretches of the Jurassic Coast.

West Bay has enjoyed a surge in popularity in recent years thanks to ITV’s smash hit Drama Broadchurch starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman being filmed here. It’s not hard to see why the location was chosen. West Bay offers some stunning landscapes to explore with breath-taking views from the cliff tops surrounding the village.

With delightful beaches and a wonderful selection of places to eat that surround the harbour, West Bay is a favourite destination for holidaymakers and day trippers a like.

The Bridport area has a wealth of fascinating attractions, many of which celebrate the heritage and art influences in the town.

Beer lovers will enjoy taking a tour of Palmer’s, England’s only thatched brewery, with all the ales made to a centuries old process. You’ll experience a special tasting and leave with a commemorative tankard; you can even purchase drop of your favourite ale to take home!

The area offers so much to get you out and about, from fun on the water with Lyme Bay RIB Charters and river paddles with West Bay Canoes to getting active at Bridport Leisure Centre. Not forgetting the miles upon miles of wonderful walking routes and cycling trails that allow you to take in the beautiful scenery. You’ll just need to decide what you want to do first!
