There are so many activities to choose from, you are spoilt for choice. Why not hire a bike and cycle through Rempstone Forest, have a go at kayaking and paddle-boarding on the River Frome or go horse riding through the countryside?
Wareham is the start of many of our walking and cycling routes – take a riverside stroll, cycle over hill tops or hike through heathland.
They don’t call it the biggest day out in history for nothing! With the world’s biggest collection of tanks, exhibitions covering over 100 years of history and live action displays, you’ll be sure to have tonnes of fun at the Tank Museum.
Look no further than Farmer Palmers Farm Park to keep the kiddies entertained. Designed for the under 8’s, your little adventurers can feed the lambs, take a tractor-trailer ride or burn off some energy in the play zones.
For the young and young at heart, a visit to Monkey World will make you smile from ear to ear. Watch the rescued apes, orangutans and lemurs get up to all sorts of monkey business.
The tranquil Blue Pool is a scenic beauty spot and a great place for a relaxing wander along the woodland walks, something to eat at the Tea House or a visit to see the Wareham Bears.
A trip to Lulworth Castle and Park is a must for the beautiful views of the parkland and the grandeur of the Castle itself. If you feel energetic you can climb to the top of the tower and look out over the surrounding countryside and nearby coast.
Want to go hunting for fossils or take a look at some amazing fossils already discovered? The Museum of Jurassic Marine Life is an immersive indoor attraction dedicated to the fossils finds of one local man, Steve Etches, and is home to a new species unearthed at nearby Kimmeridge Bay.
Wareham Town Museum is a great way to find out about local history, from prehistoric times to the present day. And it's free entry.
Why not end the day with a film or show at Wareham’s cinema, The Rex? It has an old-school charm about it and you can sit back with a glass of wine or head to the back row to sit in the lovers’ seats!
