This year, We Are Weymouth is taking a trip down memory lane with the launch of its #WeyBackWhen campaign - an evocative look at the town’s colourful history, iconic moments, and the stories that have shaped it.

Through stunning vintage photos and heartfelt personal memories, #WeyBackWhen celebrates everything from sun-soaked summer holidays to wartime homecomings, celebrity visits, and more. Whether you’re a long-time resident or someone who returns every year for that familiar seaside charm, this campaign is for you.

Photos from across the decades highlight just how much Weymouth has meant to so many - whether it’s families enjoying beach days in the 1950s, the buzz of the trawler races in the 80s, or moments of quiet nostalgia at Greenhill Chalets.

Step Into the Past with Era Weekends

To bring history to life, We Are Weymouth is rolling out a series of Era Weekends in partnership with local venues like Weymouth Pavilion, along with favourite pubs, bars, and more. From vintage vibes to full-on fancy dress, these weekends are set to be a celebration of the fashion, music, and fun of the past.

As Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth, puts it “Weymouth is all about family time, stunning scenery, lively events, and great food.
