Love food, love Dorset

Dorset is a beautiful county with many farmers, food producers & fishermen feeding its lucky visitors. The county is blessed with lush green pastures that feed some of the best beef and lamb in the country. Dorset dairy herds produce lots of milk that is made into local cheeses, butter and cream and Dorset also has the stunning Jurassic coastline with around 48 species of different kinds of fish and shellfish to enjoy.

Fresh Seafood

We’d like our visitors to share their love for not only the Dorset seaside resorts, but also some of the wonderful historic towns and surrounding countryside. From the historic hilltop town of Shaftesbury and its fascinating history; to small villages like Milton Abbas with their own Abbey; rural towns like Dorchester that has its own well-respected agricultural college, Kingston Maurward; alongside lots of National Trust historic sites, many of which have a little shop where you can purchase local jams, chutneys, honey, biscuits and local crafts. There is so much to see, explore and enjoy in Dorset it will need more than one visit.

Discover local producers

Explore little town delis, farm shops, independent butchers and bakers, and ice cream makers such as Purbeck or Baboo, in a county that is heaven for a true foodie. Drink is also in abundance for you choose from; Dorset cider producers, craft brewers of beer, creators of the famous Black Cow Vodka & Conker Gin and soft drinks like Dorset Ginger, there are so many in fact that it’s impossible to list them all.  The county also has many fresh milk vending machines to look out for.
