Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra! With a whole hamper of festive favourites on offer– whatever your age and however you like to celebrate, the BSO concerts at Lighthouse, Poole have you covered!
Step into Christmas
Advent begins chorally with Handel’s Messiah (11 Dec) when the BSO will be joined by soloists and Bournemouth Symphony Chorus for this retelling of the story of Christ. An evening heaped with beautiful arias and rousing choruses; this traditional celebration is the perfect way to put your best foot forward as you step into the Christmas period.
The Snowman
And why not gather the whole family and make merry when they play along to The Snowman (14 Dec), followed by seasonal family favourites including carols, excerpts from Disney classics and, of course, Let It Go! Choose between two performances (3pm and 7pm) of this concert, which sees the Orchestra joined by three young, local singers showcasing their talents as soloists!
Last Night of the Christmas Proms
Or, how about an evening of jazzy Christmas goodies and orchestral favourites with Last Night of the Christmas Proms (21 Dec) when the BSO will be joined by pianist and singer extraordinaire Joe Stilgoe? Christmas just isn’t Christmas without it!
Start the New Year in Style!
And festivities will be wrapped up with their New Year's Day Viennese Gala (1 Jan) that will herald in 2025 with a joyous flourish. Featuring famous waltzes, polkas and marches from Johann Strauss and his contemporaries, this dazzling concert will see your new year commencing majestically. The New Year Viennese Gala will also be performing at Weymouth Pavillion (8 Jan) if you can’t make it on New Year’s Day!
