Autumn is just round the corner, so you know what that means - it’s pumpkin picking time! Put on your wellies and get ready for some fun in the fields this October. Choose your favourite pumpkin to carve or cook up a feast with, from the biggest of traditional orange pumpkins to small, odd-shaped veggies, they are all there for the picking… Be sure to stop a while at the on-site cafés or farm shops to enjoy something delicious to eat or drink.

There are events taking place all over Dorset, but as with many seasonal events they are weather dependant, so please check with the event organiser in advance to avoid any disappointment.

Be treated to a variety of different colour and sized pumpkins at Gorcombe Farm near Blandford Forum. Dorset has been lucky to have a hot dry summer, but this does mean growing conditions have been tough for pumpkins, so less large pumpkins will be available this year.

At the end of the month, The Happy Farmer Café still hope to have its big Halloween party (date yet to be decided), with extra novel lighting and surprises in the pumpkin field!

Events dates: 1 to 31 October 2025, from 9am until 4pm.
