Seaside fun in Lyme Regis

There are several beaches to choose from in Lyme Regis.

Front beach is a lovely, sandy, sheltered beach which is patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer months.  Sit back and relax between a bit of sandcastle building and paddling. You’ll find events and activities also take place throughout the summer on this beach.

If you fancy hiring a beach hut, then these line the pebbly beach right next to Front beach.  A great spot and a fab beach if you like skimming a stone or two.

Monmouth beach is to the west of The Cobb and is popular with fossil hunters as ammonites, belemnites, fossil plants and even ichthyosaur vertebrae have been found here. If you walk to the far end of the beach at low tide, you will find the ammonite graveyard (also known as the ammonite pavement).

If you fancy a bit of rock pooling then head to Church Cliff Beach.
