Sherborne is a picturesque market town in north Dorset, surrounded by beautiful wooded hills and green valleys.
Its location is perfect for exploring the rest of Dorset, including the world-famous Jurassic Coast or venturing into the neighbouring counties of Somerset or Wiltshire.
This historic and attractive town is easy to explore on foot and is a wonderful destination for a day trip or short break.
How to get here
Sherborne is easily reached by road and train, with its own railway station on the edge of the town.
For National Express coaches, the nearest stop is at Yeovil which is only 5 miles away, where you can transfer to a local bus service or taxi.
If you’re arriving by electric vehicle, there are five 22kw, one 50kw and one 60kw chargepoints in town centre car parks, plus additional chargers at some of Sherborne's hotels.

Getting around
The town is small enough to easily walk around, however should you need it there is a local bus service which stops at various areas within the town, including the train station.
The train station is located on the edge of the town and connects to the west with Exeter in Devon and to the east with Salisbury in Wiltshire.
There are local bus services to nearby market towns at Yeovil and Dorchester where you can explore some Roman history.
And if you’re planning on doing some walking during your visit, there are a number of walking trails to hike including the Great Wessex Way and The Macmillan Way long distance trails.
