October half term is a great time of year to visit Lyme Regis. There's plenty of events taking place and attractions to visit as well as days enjoying the great outdoors....our beaches aren't just for summer!
Spooky Lyme Regis
Get into the spooky spirit in Lyme Regis and celebrate Halloween with some fun events!
The Town Mill in Lyme Regis will be transformed for Halloween with plenty of spooky sights to see as well as tastings of Halloween biscuits and cakes! Why not celebrate the creepiest night of the year with an after dark visit to Lyme Regis Museum....be prepared for a fright!
You can also go and pick your own pumpkins at Castlewood Pumpkin Patch and join a spooktacular scavenger hunt!
Lyme Regis Museum
There's plenty of fun to be had at Lyme Regis Museum this half term. Try your hand at creating your own Ammonite Tealight Holder in a Clay Workshop with Debbie Clarke from Creative Clay for All or find out all about Lyme’s most famous fossil hunter and join the ‘In the footsteps of Mary Anning’ interactive session.
Hunt for fossils!
Why not go hunting for your own treasure on a guided fossil walk organised by Lyme Regis Museum or Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre? This is the best way to hunt for fossils and local experts will help you spot your very own ammonite.
If you want to see fossils without all the hard work then head to Monmouth Beach at low tide and visit the Ammonite Pavement where limestone ledges display an abundance of fossils.
Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre also celebrate their 40th birthday during half term with lots of fun activities taking place!
Colourful adventures at the Marine Theatre
Enjoy an afternoon of colourful adventure at the Marine Theatre where a bedroom becomes a forest, a school turns into a solar system and the drawings in your bag have a life of their own! Soap Soup Theatre will have you giggling at their riotous tale of Minny Stynker!
Family friendly days out
Enjoy a day beside the sea in Lyme Regis and try a spot of crazy golf, visit the Marine Aqauarium, stroll along the famous Cobb or play games on the beach! There's plenty to do in Lyme Regis. After a fun filled time, you'll be in need of some fuel and there's plenty of places to grab a bite to eat!
Lyme Regis Fireworks
Finish off the week with a fantastic firework display over The Cobb on Saturday 2 November. Lister and Langmoor gardens offer the perfect vantage point to view the stunning display that lights up the night sky with a whizz and a pop!
