October half term is a great time of year to visit Lyme Regis.  There's plenty of events taking place and attractions to visit as well as days enjoying the great outdoors....our beaches aren't just for summer!

Spooky Lyme Regis

Get into the spooky spirit in Lyme Regis and celebrate Halloween with some fun events! 

The Town Mill in Lyme Regis will be transformed for a special two days of spooky activities for children as tastings of Halloween biscuits and cakes! During your visit why not join a special Halloween Mini Monster Milling experience!  Children will receive a bag of grain which they will hand mill, using a mini stone-ground milling machine to produce their own bag of wholemeal wheat flour to take away and make Halloween biscuits at home.

Why not celebrate the creepiest night of the year with an after dark visit to Lyme Regis Museum....be prepared for a fright!

There's plenty of fun to be had at Lyme Regis Museum this half term.  Try your hand at fossil polishing, clay modelling or join a rock pooling walk.

Lyme Regis Duck Race

Everyone goes a bit quackers at midday on Friday 31st October as hundreds of bright yellow toy ducks race down the River Lim in the Lyme Regis Duck Race. Starting at Higher Mill Flats, the ducks paddle past Windsor Terrace and tackle the weir at Woodmead Road Bridge, before winding past Lymbrook Cottages and Jericho to the finish line at Jordan Flats. Not only is this a great event for the whole family to enjoy but there's also chance to win a prize! 1st duck across the finish line wins £100, 2nd £50, 3rd £20, last duck home £10. All proceeds will go to Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Hunt for fossils!

Why not go hunting for your own treasure on a guided fossil walk organised by Lyme Regis Museum or Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre? This is the best way to hunt for fossils and local experts will help you spot your very own ammonite.

If you want to see fossils without all the hard work then head to Monmouth Beach at low tide and visit the Ammonite Pavement where limestone ledges display an abundance of fossils.

Family friendly days out

Enjoy a day beside the sea in Lyme Regis and try a spot of crazy golf or foot golf visit the Marine Aqauarium, stroll along the famous Cobb or play games on the beach!  There's plenty to do in Lyme Regis.  After a fun filled time, you'll be in need of some fuel and there's plenty of places to grab a bite to eat!
