Lyme Regis Town Council have joined forces with Visit Dorset, Dorset Council’s tourism team responsible for promoting the county, to create a new Visit Lyme Regis website that sits under the main Visit Dorset umbrella to support the town’s tourism industry and local economy.

The recently launched website, www.visit-dorset.com/lyme-regis inherits the style and usability of the main Visit Dorset site but with its own unique navigation and branding to give it a fresh and individual look. Working with Visit Dorset has enabled the Town Council to build a high quality mini-destination website in a cost-effective manner.  Visit Dorset offers the visitor a family of websites that provide over-arching county-wide information as well as detailed town information in a familiar, trusted format.

The Visit Lyme Regis website makes it easy and intuitive for the visitor to research and book a holiday to the town and showcases the town’s year-round events programme, beaches and many things to do as well as discovery trails and much more.  The impactful imagery, video and inspirational content captivates both visitors and local residents encouraging them to explore the town and surrounding area.

Cllr Cheryl Reynolds, chairman of Lyme Regis Town Council’s Tourism, Community and Publicity Committee, says: “We’re thrilled to be working with the Visit Dorset team to deliver our new and exciting tourism website. With our local knowledge and the expertise of the Visit Dorset team, we have a partnership that can work together for the benefit of Lyme Regis, the Jurassic Coast and county of Dorset. This is a really positive step forward and we hope it will be a real boost to the local tourism sector.”

Cllr Tony Ferrari, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, Assets and Property added: “The tourism sector contributes £1.8 billion to the Dorset economy and employs over 40,000 people.  We recognise the vital role that tourism plays in supporting the local economy and are delighted to be working in partnership with the Town Council to help promote Lyme Regis and attract more people to come and experience Dorset, a great place to visit.”
