Visit Dorset Business Support Hub Dorset Accommodation Charter

At Visit Dorset we are passionate about promoting local tourism businesses. We also recognise that visitors have the right to be fully informed about the quality of accommodation and we want to work with businesses that are equally committed to these principles.

Visit Dorset supports the following National Quality Assurance Schemes: VisitEngland (operated by AA), the original AA scheme, the new Quality in Tourism Scheme and the Dorset Approved Visitor Accommodation Scheme (DAVAS), which are still seen as a quality standard for many visitors. 

Whilst not a mandatory requirement for membership of Visit Dorset and our town microsites (for Lyme Regis, Sherborne and Swanage), we suggest that businesses consider adopting one of these schemes as they provide a valued, independent view and assessment of your business as well as business support and advice.

If your business is not part of a National Quality Assurance Scheme, we require that you sign the Visit Dorset Accommodation Charter as part of our standard terms and conditions. The Visit Dorset Accommodation Charter has been designed to offer businesses the opportunity to declare compliance with the minimum standards of service provision required by Visit Dorset.

Once you have selected one of our Accommodation membership packages, download the Charter, print it and sign it for your records, then email us a copy of the signed document (you can email a photo of the signed Charter if this is easier for you).

Ideally, business members working with Visit Dorset will manage their business in a sustainable way that supports the natural environment.
