Gravel Bike ‘Bikepacking’ Trips and Experiences
Our aim is to offer challenging but achievable experiences for anyone with an interest travelling by bike across the region we call home.
We offer different routes and experiences in different terrain the region offers. The distances are not excessive but beyond what most would ride within a single day. We camp overnight, carrying all our own equipment on our bikes in specialist bags, known today as ‘Bikepacking’.
If you're not sure a full bikepacking journey is for you but your still curious what its all about, join us at one of our Introduction to Bikepacking Weekends.
Why Wessex?
The Kingdom of Wessex was an Anglo-Saxon Kingdom dating from 519AD to 927AD, before England became unified. It encompasses the Counties we now know as Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, but throughout the four hundred years the Kingdom encompassed Kent, Sussex, Oxfordshire, Isle of Wight. The Region is steeped in history from the Anglo-Saxon period and before it when in control of the Roman Empire until 410AD; it is covered with the historic trading routes, roman roads, ox droves, now taking the form of modern byways and bridleways.
Within Dorset we offer 3 two day trips operating from our base in Poole in Dorset, taking in The Jurassic Coast, North Dorset and the Wessex Ridgeway, and East Dorset into the Cranborne Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
We also offer trips and experiences in the greater Wessex Region. See our website for further details.
