Welcome to The Gallery at the Arts University Bournemouth - a major resource for contemporary art and design in the South of England.
TheGallery is open to the public and admission to our exhibitions and supporting events is free. Our regular programme of exhibitions feature a range of art from sculpture to film, photography, drawing and fine art. See our website for full details or our programme at www.aub.ac.uk/gallery
Showcasing work by contemporary artists and designers from around the world, our collections also include pieces on loan from major galleries and museums.
Many of the exhibitions and artists’ commissions that have been produced within the space since its opening in 1998 have received both national and international recognition.
We deliver an exciting portfolio of exhibitions, events, international exhibitions and commissioned projects, many of which have toured nationally and internationally, building upon the creative collaboration between the Arts University Bournemouth and external venues.
We seek to enhance the cultural capital of the students, staff and alumni whilst also providing a public platform for the arts within the sub-region.
Our text+work publishing series is the concept which underpins our exhibition programme, creative events and commissioned projects within the University. It promotes a forum for challenging dialogue between innovative contemporary art, design and media practice and their theoretical context. text+work furthers the scholarship and research agenda of the University and shares research activity through exhibitions and published texts. It is a valuable resource for the University and is integrated into its teaching, learning and research.
