About

The Carter Company’s self guided walking and cycling, holidays are a unique way to discover the best of Dorset.

Get away from the crowds with our creative itineraries which show you the hidden gems and local secrets as well as the highlights, and at the end of the day relax in one of our hand picked luxury hotels, traditional inns or cosy guesthouses. Let us take care of all the details so all you need to do is work up an appetitie for dinner!

We put a lot of care into finding routes along charming back roads and quiet footpaths that take you off the beaten track, through forests and woods where you can enjoy some unusually close encounters with animals; past quaint villages to unspoilt beaches; add a couple of outdoor museums or a spot of boating and there is something for everyone.

Whether you choose to cycle through countryside or coastline, our 25 years of experience makes us the ideal choice for families or friends looking for a different way to explore the landscape, history and culture of England’s Jurassic County. In addition to the well-loved tours we feature on our website, we are happy to tailor your holiday to meet your requirements and give you our advice to ensure you get the best from your trip.

All tours include a full support service from our helpful local hosts, accommodation with full English breakfast each day, emergency 24 hour phone number, an Adventure Handbook – packed full of information, history and The Carter Company’s insider tips on how to discover the local secrets; bike hire; GPS route directions and maps - we will even give you a phone holder for your bike and a spare battery pack!

Let us inspire you – visit us at www.the-carter-company.com - call us on +44 (0) 1296 631671 or email hello@the-carter-company.com.
