The Museum holds a wealth of artefacts and archives from prehistoric to the present day. Exhibitions tell the story of Blandford and the surrounding area. We also hold archives for people researching their family history. Exhibits include militaria, Victorian life, Mediaeval and Georgian history, school history and a model railway.
The Blandford Museum interacts with the local community through a variety of special interest clubs. When you join the museum as a member you can join the museum directly or can join as a member of one of several museum clubs.
The Museum Victorian Garden Club do a wonderful job tending our authentic Victorian Garden producing both plants and jams which are available to buy in the shop.
There is a model of the former Blandford Forum Station which was featured in the February 2011 edition of Railway Modeller. Alongside the model of Blandford Station the Railway Club is an interactive layout featuring 'Thomas and Henry' for children to play with.
The Blandford Museum Archaeology Club meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at the museum. New members are most welcome. As with all the clubs, the annual membership fee is £10, which provides a museum membership, with an affiliation with a club if you choose (and membership fees going to support club activities).
There is a regular art display by local artists in our Artist of the Month.
