Enjoy Our Countryside and Coast

Do enjoy our countryside and coast – put litter in bins or take it home.

The huge variety of beaches and coastal landscapes makes Dorset’s coastline one of the most inspiring and spectacular stretches of coast found anywhere in the UK. And with 100 miles of coast, you’re sure to find your perfect place to escape the hum drum of everyday life.

If you’d rather head inland, then there are rolling hills and green pastures aplenty. There are miles upon miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore and there is always a pub or tearoom along the way for a pit stop.

Litter Free Land, Coast and Sea

Our countryside, coast and sea look so much better when they are rubbish free. In fact, many of our beaches were part of the Great Dorset Beach Clean in May where over 320 volunteers collected 165 bags of rubbish. Now that our beaches and sea are pristine clean, we need everyone to bin their rubbish and if there are no litter bins or the bins are already full, take the rubbish home or back to where you are staying overnight.

Bringing your four legged friend with you? There are many beaches where dogs are welcome all year round and some seafront cafes will put out water bowls and even offer dog friendly treats too. Remember to always pick up after your dog and be aware that there may not be bins at every beach.
