Stunning Dorset countryside

With spring in full bloom the Dorset landscape really bursts with colour making it even more enticing to get out and about and explore our beautiful landscape.

With an extensive network of cycle routes, walking trails and bridleways to explore you just need to decide how you’re going to go about it! Whether on foot, pedal power or horseback you’ll be in for a treat.

Jurassic Coast Kayak tour

How about enjoying the breathtaking Jurassic Coastline with a view from the water on a boat ride with Lyme Bay RIB Charter or paddle in beautiful blue waters on a sea kayak tour with Land & Wave. Dorset boast a number of water sports experts offering a host of water based activities everyone can enjoy.

The May Bank Holiday weekend is a great time to get active and enjoy Dorset's great outdoors, whether you fancy fishing, golf  or some outdoor adventure you won't be disappointed! 

Dorset is also a haven for wildlife and we have some of the best wildlife and natural landscapes found anywhere in the UK so why not use the May Bank Holiday as an excuse to get out and discover nature's finest....if you're along the cost you may even be loucky enough to spot a dolphin!

Events aplenty!

The May Bank Holiday also sees the events calendar in Dorset gather pace and this year is no exception.

How about having a go at throwing a Dorset Knob? Yes, you heard that correct! The world famous Dorset Knob Throwing Festival is one of Dorset’s best known and most unique events.

The Lyme Regis Fossil Festival provides the opportunity to learn more of Dorset’s unique coastline giving you the opportunity to get up close and personal with creatures dating back millions of years. Always a favourite event for families, so why not take your little dinosaurs along?

Sherborne Abbey Music Festival

Lovers of music should certainly head to the Sherborne Abbey Music Festival. This award winning event plans to be bigger and better than ever! Make sure you don’t miss out; tickets are available from the Sherborne Tourist Information Centre.

Foodie delights

Dorset really does boast some of the finest local produce making it a go-to destination for all food lovers to enjoy. Join a wine tour, brewery tour or indulge in a foodie masterclass!

Why not sample some of the delightful local produce or purchase your own at the many farmers markets and Dorset food festivals?
