A traditional rural English 16th Century Inn, warm and cosy with an Inglenook Fireplace and lots of original features on the outskirts of Wimborne, idyllically set in the Dorset Heath National Nature Park.
The Cross Keys is known for its excellent home-made English pub food, especially Viv's handmade short crust pastry steak and kidney pie filled with British beef and pure guinness served with chips and peas or blackberry and apple crumble, with blackberries picked from the fields and served with custard, cream or ice cream.
Lunch is served Monday to Sunday Noon – 2.00 p.m and evening meals Monday to Saturday 6.00pm – 8.30pm.
They have a variety of ales, traditional ciders and over 150 spirits to choose from, plus.a good selection of wines by the Glass or bottle.
With wonderful picturesque walks long and short across the heathland with exquisite native plants, birds and reptiles to spot and course fishing close by.
Whether you are celebrating or looking to relax, there is a large garden with patio, including a children's play area.
There is an undercover section with pool table and football machine.
They can cater for functions, birthday parties, christenings, weddings and all sorts of celebrations in our beer garden. Dogs are welcome in the Garden only.
They host a variety of traditional events each year including May Day 1st May 5.00am in the Morning. See the Sun rise with traditional Morris Dancing by the Bourne River Morris Men. Full English BBQ Breakfast. November 5th Rain or Shine Bonfire Firework Night. Small miniature steam up this year in July.
There is a large car park with space for Motorhomes and Coaches.
