In need of somewhere to stop for a while, relax and re-fuel on tasty treats? Well you’ve found it!  We have got plenty of cafes and coffee shops to satisfy your hunger!

Whether you are looking for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch or a slice of scrumptious Dorset apple cake with a dollop of clotted cream you’re never too far from a cafe or coffee shop in Dorset.

Dorset loves local!

Many establishments are locally run with many priding themselves on using fresh, seasonal, local ingredients.  With meals being freshly prepared and home cooked on the premises you can rest assured that you’ll be treated to some delicious fayre.

Fresh roasted coffee, delicious Denhay bacon rolls….the smell alone will bowl you over!

There’s also plenty of choice if you’re looking for a gluten free treat or have special dietary requirements, nobody will go hungry in Dorset!

Take a break!

There really is nothing better than enjoying a cream tea whilst basking in the Dorset sunshine after a long walk, a thirst quenching long drink after a cycle ride or a cup freshly brewed coffee while reading the paper!

If you’ve shopped til you drop, then give your feet a rest and step inside one of the independent coffee shops on the high street that just ooze charisma and charm.  Enjoy a slice of scrumptious homemade cake whilst doing a spot of people watching!  With all that walking you’ve done you deserve it!

No extra charge for the spectacular scenery!

Many cafes and tea rooms are set in idyllic locations, perfect for sitting and watching the world go by.

Sit on a terrace outside a quaint little café, admire the countryside views and soak in the ambience or relax on the seafront and listen to the distant waves crashing as you tuck into your lunch or sip at your hot chocolate.

The Coast Restaurant in Purbeck boasts commanding views over the bay; why not pay them a visit and sample their range of filter coffees from around the world?

The stunning backdrop of the breath taking cliffs at West Bay provides the perfect setting to enjoy superb food made from the very finest local produce at the Watch House Cafe. Delicious food in a delightful setting, what could be better than that!

Treats for your four legged friend!

If you’ve been on a nice long walk with your furry friend in tow then no doubt you’ve worked up a bit of an appetite, so surely a quick pit-stop to re-fuel is necessary!

Under the Greenwood Tree Cafe is located in the Hardy’s Birthplace Visitor Centre right on the edge of Thorncombe Woods and is a great place to stop after a long walk. Your dog is more than welcome in the café and free treats are also provided for them!

So make sure you pop in to one or two (or maybe a few!) cafes and coffee shops from the list below during your visit to Dorset and enjoy some fabulous, tasty, local, fresh home-made food and drink in a perfect setting.
