Upton is located in between Poole and Wareham.
The town's biggest attraction is Upton Country Park with walking and cycling routes near Poole Harbour - Europe's largest natural harbour. The Park also includes The Peacock Tearooms and Art Gallery, the walled garden with splash fountain, natural play areas, plant sales and an education programme. Upton House is the central feature of the Park used for events, conferences and weddings.
Dorset Segways is based at the Park. Join one their tours to glide past the walled gardens, extensive lawns and Holes Bay, then head into Grove Woods for a final blast through the 300 year old woodland.
The Castleman Trailway links Upton Country Park to Ringwood via Wimborne Minster, Moors Valley Country Park and Avon Heath Country Park. It is one of Dorset's gentlest signposted, walking, cycling and horse riding routes.
Poole Harbour is one of the world's largest natural harbours. The newly created Holes Bay Nature Park takes in Upton Country Park, Upton Wood, Holes Bay North Nature Reserve, Hamworth Creeks Nature Reserve, Baiter Park and Hamworthy Park.
There are various walking and cycling routes near or around Poole Harbour. Why not try the Heritage Cycle route into Poole town centre or one of the six Poole Harbour Walking Trails?
If you are looking for shopping, Poole town centre is only a short drive, bus ride or cycle away. Poole Park and Poole Quay are then within walking distance.
