Know Before You Go - Covid-19 information
England has now been placed in a national lockdown. This means that all non-essential businesses are now closed. In order to help keep us all safe please read and follow the latest government advice.
Our priority right now is to ensure that we look after our local community, the landscape around us and also to help you plan your visits to our beautiful county when it is safe to do so. Please stay local and follow our guidelines to respect, protect and enjoy Dorset.
Plan ahead
Behind the scenes, our tourism and hospitality businesses have carried out risk assessments, prepared their premises and put measures in place to ensure that everything is ready to welcome you back for an enjoyable and safe visit when the time is right. Why not take this time to plan ahead and book a visit for later in the year when it's safer to do so.
Our wonderful restaurants, pubs and cafes have had to close but many establishments are also offering fantastic takeaway or delivery options.
Now is the ideal opportunity to explore our website and social channels; we've got loads of information to provide you with inspiration to help plan your next visit to Dorset.
Dorset is on pause but will be Good to Go
VisitEngland have launched a uk-wide 'Good to Go' industry standard and supporting mark to provide a ring of confidence for visitors.
Many businesses across Dorset have signed up to the scheme demonstrating that they are adhering to the respective Government and Public Health guidance and have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment ensuring that they have the required processes in place.
Although our hospitality industry is on pause at the moment check out our Good to Go Dorset page providing more information about the scheme and detailing all of the Dorset businesses that signed up to it.
