About

Set on the cliffs overlooking the majestic sweep of Dorset's Chesil Beach and Lyme Bay, The Seaside Boarding House opened its doors in 2015.

Elegant yet informal, The Seaside Boarding House comprises a classic restaurant, a proper cocktail bar offering grown up shaken, mixed and muddled drinks and luxurious bedrooms each with a view of the sea.

All of the eight large bedrooms have some view of the sea. The airy rooms at the front look out on to magnificent seascapes and the side and rear rooms look along the East and West coasts and over the bucolic countryside surrounding The Seaside Boarding House and the village of Burton Bradstock. Open a window and night and listen to the distant lullaby of the breaking waves and surging surf.

Each room has a very individual en suite bathroom - in one for instance a guest can lie in the bath and look straight out over Lyme Bay. In another you walk down a few stairs into a large luxurious room with a deep claw-foot bathtub.

The bed lies at the heart of a great bedroom; here you make your pillow camp, your fortress against the outside world, your recharging point and reading, writing and siesta HQ. At The Seaside Boarding House we use high handmade beds from Exeter based Naturalmat, giving a luxurious yet fully supported sleep on all natural materials. There are armchairs or window seats to settle down with a good /or bad book (we have many good ones in the library). All the bedrooms come fully equipped with Wifi, an internet radio and are room-serviced from morning to midnight. A television can be set up on request.

There is even a shower room downstairs for sandy beach players or salty swimmers who wish to freshen up before lunch, dinner or sundowners.
