Welcome to The Poachers Inn, a pub in Dorset renowned for its luxury bed & breakfast (b&b) accommodation, 17th Century restaurant and riverside garden.
Beautifully positioned in the little village of Piddletrenthide near Dorchester, The Poachers Inn has something for everyone.
From the minute you walk through the door you can experience the traditional yet modern bar and restaurant which serves wonderful food, ales and wine.
We have lovely pool set in a privately enclosed sun trap, you could be anywhere in the world! Around the pool is a beautiful riverside garden and decked areas. An ideal place to enjoy lunch or a drink.

Separate from the main inn and restaurant and formed around a central courtyard, we have 21 rooms. The bedrooms are individually and stylishly decorated to a very high standard with modern furnishings and the comfiest beds - our rooms are like no others.
Our executive rooms are spacious and highly appointed with bath and shower.
Our two suites have king size beds, whirlpool baths, walk in showers.and lounge seating areas overlooking the pool. Ideal for any special occasion.

Bar & restaurant in Dorset - Passionate about food...
We are passionate about using the finest local ingredients with meat, fish, game, bread and cheeses from local suppliers. Our wine list features wines from all over the world. and our house wines are excellent quality and value. We always have 3 real ales available in addition to keg beers and lagers.
The ambience is informal and casual. There is an extensive bar menu which can be enjoyed in our decked areas around the pool or inside. In the evening you can dine alfresco or indoors in our 17th Century restaurant.

Situated in the heart of West Dorset, The Poachers Inn is the perfect place to explore some of the local area. Close to the spectacular World Heritage Jurassic Coast, miles of unspolit beautiful countryside, lots of attractions and the towns of Dorchester, Weymouth, Salisbury and Poole are all an easy drive away.
The Poachers Inn is an ideal base for walkers with hundreds of walks literally leading from the front door. Other sports such as cycling, golf, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking can also be explored locally.

From A35 From Dorchester head north on the B3143 signposted Piddletrenthide & Sturminster Newton. The Poachers Inn is approximately 6 miles from Dorchester on the north side of Piddletrenthide. It is located on the left hand side of Piddletrenthide 100 yards from the Manor House.
From Dorchester South From the bus stop in Trintiy Street, Dorchester, you will need to take the Damory bus, which travels to Piddletrenthide at least 4 times a day other than on Sundays. It is about a 15 minute journey.
