About

We are an independently run, 43 bedroom cliff top hotel, enjoying stunning, panoramic views of Swanage Bay with our own private access to the sandy beach below. Quietly situated close to the South West coast path with our own gated entry, we are also within walking distance (approximately 1 mile) to the lively seaside town centre. We are the largest hotel in Swanage and open to non residents too, with our own on site restaurant, garden, bar and lounge area overlooking the sea with views to Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight. We have a space available for private functions and a large, CCTV monitored car park on site which is free of charge to our guests.

With an on going refurbishment programme throughout the hotel, all of our comfortable bedrooms are beautifully and practically furnished. We have a variety of rooms from singles to family suites, all have en suite facilities, flatscreen TV and a well stocked hospitality tray. Many have sea views and/or balconies, whilst others have views spanning across to the Purbeck Hills and Ballard Down. We do have facilities for those who may have specific additional needs, including a lift to all floors - please don’t hesitate to call us to find out more.

Be sure to take a look at ‘The Purbeck Suite’ – a large, luxurious sea view and balcony room complete with many special touches and mod cons – including super king size bed, hydro massage shower, his and hers basins, 65” flat screen TV, air conditioning, remote control awning, private sun terrace and electric curtains which mean you don’t even have to get out of bed in the morning to be able to watch the sunrise!

Our food at each meal time is freshly prepared by our team of creative and experienced chefs, using local produce wherever possible and with daily changing menus. Our restaurant is supervised by an attentive, knowledgeable restaurant manager alongside his friendly and helpful team. Our bar is well stocked with a range of local ales and ciders.

Free superfast Wifi is available throughout the hotel. Your dog is welcome to stay with you whilst you are here with us and enjoy everything our local area has to offer too, however, please be aware that for the comfort of all of our guests, restrictions and charges do apply. Gift vouchers are available and can be used throughout the hotel – a perfect gift for a special occasion.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing break and some time to unwind or to explore the many sights and experiences Dorset has to offer, The Pines Hotel offers the perfect base for your stay, no matters your age. Nothing is too much trouble here for our guests, so please don’t hesitate to get into contact with us and see how we can be of help to you – whatever the occasion may be.
