About Us….. Well we are Lyn, Kevin and Finlay our teenage Son; we have been running Rivendell Guest House for 15 years now. It’s a long way from our previous London lives where we both ran our own businesses, always serving the public. Moving to Swanage has changed our lives in ways we could have never imagined….All for the better and We are truly blessed. Starting a Guest House all those years back was not quite what we set out to do, but plans changed, and Lyn and I embraced the change and we have never looked back.
The History of our house goes back to 1904 when it was completed. Throughout the history of the house it has been used in some form of Hospitality. In its early years as a Guest house with live in servants, then into the second world war housing Soldiers As a boarding house, some of which have returned to visit. The very early days of the house we believe were for young children as a hospital.
The house has always been a home to care and look after people and Lyn and I pride ourselves in the quality and level of service we offer from our home as a family run business.
