A very warm welcome awaits you at Hyde Cottage, your perfect base when visiting the Jurassic Coast and Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. Picturesque locations include Corfe Castle, Tyneham, Kimmeridge and the golden sandy beaches at Swanage and Studland as well as Brownsea Island. Only nine miles from Lulwoth Cove and Durdle Door.
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped en-suite rooms including a ground floor bedroom are avalable in our peaceful family home set within over an acre of garden.Fantastic walks from the door to see Dartford Warblers and Nightjars as well as Sika deer. Homemade scones, jams and marmalade to be enjoyed with a good choice of home cooked breakfasts including fresh fruit and free range eggs from our own hens. Attention to detail and personal service is my top priority whilst you are staying with us. There are fridges in your rooms and I'm happy to supply plates/wine glasses etc if you would like to have a take away in the evening in our dining area.
Perfectly placed for exploring the stunning local environment amidst heathland, within easy reach of RSPB Arne and Hartland Moor reserves. This is a Bird Watchers paradise!
Hyde Cottage is a fantastic base for driving, walking or cycling being on route 2 of the National Cycle Network with bike hire close by and Safe storage for bikes on site. Maps and books available to borrow plus any help needed with planning days out. Cars can be left at the cottage with bus routes just five minutes walk away and Stoborough Heath can be accessed from our garden or Hyde Hill to view Poole Harbour, Wareham and Corfe Castle.
Nearby is the historic market town of Wareham which lies within Saxon walls (approx. 1 mile) with picturesque quayside and riverside walks this is a popular destination for those visiting the area. Boats/Kayaks to hire and trips upriver or into Poole Harbour.
Other popular local attractions include Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre and The Tank Museum.,
We are located within 10 mins walking distance of a 17th Century thatched village inn, serving great pub food and local ales as well as many good surrounding pubs and restaurants.
Our guests are welcome to enjoy the garden for relaxation and stargazing.
Ample off road parking is available for your convenience.

Wareham take the bypass A351 to roundabout at Stoborough - take the exit signposted Furzebrook and Blue Pool - Hyde Cottage 200 yards on right - first right turn.
To Wareham
From Poole/Bournemouth, via Sandbanks Ferry – 01929 450203. www.sandbanksferry.co.uk. From Ferry take the B3351 through Studland Village. Carry on until junction with A351 at Corfe Castle. Turn right, onto A351,signposted Wareham. From Poole – A35 towards Dorchester until Lytchett Minster (Bakers Arms Roundabout) and roundabout take first exit A351 to Wareham. From Swanage – A351 signposted Corfe Castle and Wareham. At Worgret roundabout take 3rd exit, signposted Wareham (Worgret Road). From Dorchester – A352 signposted Wareham. At Worgret roundabout continue straight over signposted Wareham (Worgret Road). From Weymouth – A353 signposted Wareham. At Warmwell roundabout, take 3rd exit onto A352, signposted Wareham. At Worgret roundabout continue straight over signposted Wareham (Worgret Road).
From Wareham Railway Station or Wareham South Bridge, there is an hourly bus service (no. 30 or 40) heading to Swanage - after 1 ½ miles stop at Stoborough Green.
To Wareham:
By Bus: From Bournemouth take the M1 or M2 to Poole, then transfer to number 40 or X54. From Poole take the number 40 or X54. From Swanage take the number 30 or 40. From West Lulworth take the 15 or 30. From Weymouth take the number 30 or X54.
By Train: Wareham Railway Station (on the London Waterloo to Weymouth line) is found less than a mile from the Town Centre. You can catch bus number 40 or X54 from the Railway Station to the Town Centre.
