You are here: Accommodation > Eype House Caravan Park
Nestled in the idylic village of Eype and a short walk from the unspoilt Eype Beach, Eype House occupies 4 acres of rising ground with beautiful extensive sea and countryside views.
Located on the first natural World Heritage site in England, the famous Jurassic Coast. Lyme Bay was awarded the status due to it being the only stretch of coast offering a complete record of 185 million years of Earth's history. Fossil hunting is a favourite activity amoungst our visitors at Eype House with Lyme Regis being the place to visit for any avid fossil hunter.
Situated just 200 yards from the beach, Eype House occupies 4.5 acres of rising ground, with extensive sea views and easy access to the wide sweep of unspoiled beach.
The village of Eype, believed to be a old sumuggler's haunt, is relatively unchanged by the years. A family friendly New Inn Pub and Eype's Mouth Hotel offer excvellent meals and local ales to all visitors where dogs are also welcomed.
Approximately 1 mile from the tranquil village of Eype is the busy market town of Bridport which has a good range of shops pubs, restaurants and cafes to suit everyone. The street market is held every Saturday and on Wednesday mornings with a farmer's and vintage market once a month.
Much of the local countryside is owned by the National Trust. Springtime brings blankets of bluebells, while in summer, the cliffs are ablaze with wild flowers making Eype perfect for walkers and nature lovers.
For spectacular coastal views across Lyme Bay undulating walks along the cliff top to the west will take you to lovely Thorncombe Beacon and Seatown where you can pause for a rewarding break in The Anchor Inn before reaching the pinnacle, the Colden Cap, the highest point in southern England enjoying beautiful views whichever way you look. Heading to the east, you can visit West Bay of Broadchurch fame, with its charming harbout perfect for crabbing and boat trips for deepsea and mackerel fishing before continuing to Burton Bradstock perfect for local seafood at the award winning Hive Beach Cafe. You can continue walking in either direction as we are on the South West Coiastal Path which stretches from Mineheat to Poole Harbour.
