WESSSEX WANDERER – PUBLIC WALKS

Public Guided Walks from stations on the Weymouth to Bristol Railway Line.

This programme of public walks from stations on the Bristol-Weymouth line organised and led by experienced leaders of the Ramblers’ Association from Avon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire has been running successfully for over 15 years. There is no charge and no need to book in advance. The walks are supported by the Heart of Wessex Community Rail Partnership and First Great Western.

No need to book. Buy a day return ticket to the relevant station. For linear walks buy a ticket to the station that is furthest from your departure station.

Request stops: Chetnole, Yetminster, Thornford and Avoncliff are Request Stops. Please advise the conductor on the train that you wish to alight at a request stop. When joining at request stops, signal clearly to the driver to stop the train.

Tickets: Groups of three or four individuals can travel together for the price of two on Cheap Day Returns or Savers on Group Save tickets. A Day Ranger ticket may be more economical for a longer journey if you do not have a Seniors or Network rail card.

Please wear strong shoes/walking boots and waterproofs, and bring drinks and food.

Sorry NO DOGS can be allowed on the walks.

Whilst every care will be taken to keep to the advertised programme, walks leaders reserve the right to make changes to suite weather conditions, the needs of the party or any other unforeseen circumstances.
