Dorset Bird Week offers a range of guided walks, talks demonstrations and kids events to find out more about birds. Visit the website address above for event details.
The Dorset Bird Week events are designed to appeal to anyone with an interest in birds and wildlife – from absolute beginners to experienced bird-watchers.
Most of the walks are fairly short and not too strenuous but if you have any particular concerns, or wish to find out more, please ring the contact number.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the event and weather conditions. Stout shoes or boots, and warm waterproof clothing are generally recommended.
Binoculars may be available on some walks but it is always best to bring your own pair. Telescopes may be useful but are not essential.
Although most walks do not require advanced booking (check programme for details), please try to be at the meeting place at least 5 minutes before the start time.
To be fair to other participants, dogs must be well behaved and on a lead.
Please note: most walks are unsuitable for children under ten.
Occasionally, it may be necessary to alter the route or content of a walk at short notice.
For further information about any aspects of the Dorset Bird Weeks, please telephone 01929 424443.
