Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

A special 4-day Jubilee bank holiday. To mark 60 years of the Queen’s reign the Diamond Jubilee will take place in 2012. The celebrations will centre around an extended weekend in 2012 on Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd, Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June. Just some of the events taking place in Lyme Regis over the three days: Best Decorated Shop Window; • Best Decorated Private House; • Children’s Art Exhibition/Workshop; • Lyme in the 1950s Exhibition; • Memories of The Coronation. Saturday 2nd
CIVIC PARADE AND MARCH PAST - 11am -From Langmoor Gardens to Marine Parade.
LOYAL ADDRESS -12 noon - Marine Parade.
PLANTING OF MEMORIAL TREE -2.30pm - Langmoor/Lister Gardens.
MARCHING DISPLAY & CONCERT - 3pm - Marine Parade.
STREET PARTY IN COOMBE STREET - 4pm - For current/former residents.
‘THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN ENGLAND’ CONCERT PARTY - 7pm - Woodmead Halls.

Sunday 3rd 2012
SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING - 10am - St Michael’s Parish Church.
THE BIG SUNDAY LUNCH -Two sittings at 12 noon and 1.30pm Adults £8.50, children £6 Entertainment 12 noon - Woodmead Halls. To be followed by broadcasting of THE JUBILEE PAGEANT on the River Thames on a big screen. MARINE THEATRE SHOW - 3pm - (Details to be confirmed)

Monday 4th Spring Bank Holiday
1950s TEA PARTY with Big Band - 3pm Marine Parade (if wet in Woodmead Halls)
FESTIVAL OF THE SEA AND REVIEW OF THE FLEET - 5pm The Bay: Sailing, Gig and Power Boat Clubs and Local Boatmen.
JUBILEE TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION - 8pm .
LIGHTING OF THE JUBILEE BEACON - 10pm .

Tuesday 5th The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Holiday
CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS WITH ROYAL THEME - 11am - (Location to be agreed).
CHILDREN’S STREET PARTY - 3pm - Anning Road (if wet in Woodmead Halls).
PRESENTATION OF JUBILEE MUGS & TOWN PASSPORTS - 4pm -Anning Road. Mugs donated by local resident Derek Hallet will be presented to children of primary school age. Children will also be presented with a Town Passport to local attractions, organised by Rikey Austin.
THE JUBILEE GAMES - 5 pm - Marine Parade/Beach Organised by Hugh Dunford Wood.
JUBILEE FINALE - OPEN AIR DANCE - 8pm - Marine Parade.
