Breathe

Breathe is a breath-taking outdoor performance of circus, dance and cabaret where people who cannot walk will fly, wheelchairs will float, those without voices will speak and all will soar high above Weymouth. A local and international cast of disabled and non-disabled performers will perform the most diverse outdoor performance the South West has ever seen.

Created by four leading disabled artists: Jamie Beddard, Alex Bulmer, Dave Toole and Mat Fraser, this unparalleled and inspirational event will explore the workings of, and assumptions around unique bodies. Local theatre groups The Remix and Double Act will join together with two Brazilian companies APAE Floripa and Estacao Duncar, Florianopolis, Brazil to create this spectacle before an audience of 15,000 on Weymouth beach.

The performance picks up the Battle for the Winds story; the winds have been brought to Aeolus (Ruler of the Winds), Dholdrum captures some of the Breathers in an attempt to stop the winds, our story reveals how the Breathers are released and Doldrum overcome, for the winds to be handed over to the sea to allow the Olympic sailing events to begin.
