Autumn Bird Week
Saturday 28 August – Sunday 5 September 2010
September is the month for watching migrant birds in Dorset. Here, the superb landscapes and spectacular coastal scenery provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying the annual spectacle of autumn migration. The Autumn Bird Week has been carefully planned to provide exciting and enjoyable bird-watching – whatever your level of expertise. Most of Dorset’s specialities should be seen and, with luck, some of the rarer species may be encountered. As in the spring, it should be possible to log over 100 species during the week.
Discover one of the finest bird-watching counties in Britain with the help of local experts who really know their ‘patch’. With a wide-ranging programme of events organised for each day, you can tailor the week to your exact requirements. Don’t forget your binoculars!
