ARTWEY's 'The Giant Wall'

THE GIANT WALL, organised by ARTWEY is an 'Inspire Mark' project to acknowledge this unique year of 2012 in Weymouth and Portland’s history.

Local artists will lead their community in creating textile portraits of personal local heroes or visiting Olympic athletes, celebrating their friendship, determination and courage.

Participation packs (£1) will be available at various galleries in the area for individuals to work on independently or through various free workshops held during the year.

Here artists will provide materials, skills, guidance and encouragement to help community members create their portraits.

Each 'GIANT' will become part of two huge wallhangings permanently displayed in Weymouth and Portland alongside commemorative books recording these inspirational stories, producing an enduring legacy of their positive contribution to our community.
