Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park and Rescue Centre
Soak up some of Dorset's finest scenery with a relaxing Heavy Horse Wagon Ride around the park or a daring tractor or trailer ride down the valley! You can also take the opportunity to 'drive' a real farm tractor in the off road arena.
Throughout the day there are some fascinating talks and tours which are interesting for both adults and children and there is also a full timetable of daily interaction events with the horses and other friendly farm animals.
Children will love the go cart arena, pony rides, adventure play area, straw barn farm and the childrens fairground rides.
Smokey Joe's Cafe provides a host of tasty home cooked food, delicious cakes and cream teas.
This season there is a new attraction called 'Market Street' where children can experience the working life of the horses and donkeys of long ago.
It is guaranteed that you will return home with much more knowlege than when you arrived and you proves to be a a very memorable day at great value!
Your visit helps to provide a permanent home for over 20 rescued heavy horses of various breeds and everyone falls in love with their wonderful characters.

* Open from 25th March until 29th October 2016 10am - 4pm daily. CLOSED on Mondays outside of school holidays (open bank holidays) In October the park is only open Thursday - Sunday, except for Half Term week. Earlier close in Autumn, due to the nights drawing in. We like the horses to enjoy daylight when they head back out to the fields.
