The Tank Museum

Dorset's rich historical roots are displayed through its wide collection of museums and watermills splashed across the county. From one of the finest military museums in the UK – Bovington's Tank Museum to Dorset County Museum, you will find a fantastic variety of museums throughout the county.

Fleet Air Arm MuseumThe family will have a great day out at the Fleet Air Arm Museum which has the largest European collection of Naval aircraft! Bournemouth Aviation Museum has exhibits from the last 50 years of aviation - there's even a mini runway! Take a look around the Swanage Railway Museum, admission is free and there's even a cinema showing historic films of the Swanage Railway.

There are many other museums located across the county, Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum, Weymouth Museum, The Teddy Bear Museum to name a few.

Sturminster Newton MillDorset's watermills make a great day out for a picturesque riverside visit. Set in the peaceful rural valley, Mangerton Mill is a 17th Century working watermill and museum.
