Dorset Food Festivals & Events

Looking for an event to tantalise your taste buds?

Dorset is renowned for its local produce and as well as the regular farmers' markets that you can find sprinkled around the county, Dorset hosts a range of gourmet celebrations from beer, cheese and seafood festivals to large scale events showcasing the delectable delights from across the whole county!

Mouthwatering Dorset Events

Dorset is home to some of the finest locally produced food and seafood so naturally we're always ready to celebrate all things food with mouthwatering events featuring plenty of local produce in splendid locations!

Food events with a difference!

You'll also find a variety of more quirky events to enjoy!

Why not chomp your way through as many stinging nettles as you can bare at one of Dorset's more unsual events - the World Nettle Eating Championships!

Don't worry if you're not feeling peckish for nettles as this is a bemusing event to spectate.

If you're looking for something with a bit less bite, the Dorset Knob Throwing Competition and Frome Valley Food Festival is a family day out with a difference.

Along with the opportunity to taste and purchase a fine range of local foods, why not see how far you can throw a Dorset Knob?

If throwing isn't your forte then have a go at Knob painting or the Knob and spoon race!

A foodie's paradise!

Taste the delights of Dorset at Eat Dorset Food Fair in October, set in the beautiful grounds of Parnham House - this is a truely delicious day out.

There are plenty of more tradional food events to delight - The Christchurch Food & Wine Festival takes place every May and is one of the premier events of its type, attracting top celebrety chefs to demonstrate their culinary skills.

The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival brings together champagne and seafood around Weymouth's picturesque harbour in July.

This fantastic event provides fun and entertainment for the whole family ...and of course lots of delicious local food for you to sample.

If cheese is your vice then a visit to Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival is a must.

This two day event takes place in September and celebrates all things cheese!
