Glamping in Dorset

Like the idea of the great outdoors but enjoy your creature comforts? Fancy a night under the stars but without the cold and wet? Well if this sounds like you, then Glamping could be the perfect alternative break.

Combining tranquillity and escapism with a dash of home comfort, glamping can be a hassle-free alternative to camping, or a truly luxurious retreat.

If the idea of flimsy tents fills you with dread, then why not “rough it” in something with a little more comfort in mind. Forget roll mats and sleeping bags and say hello to comfortable mattresses, snuggly duvets and best of all, everything will be waiting for you when you arrive. So you don't have to waste any of your holiday packing the car with pots and pans or putting up the tent, you can just sit back and relax.

Many of our Glamping options provide a whole host of amenities from complete plumbing, electrics and wonderfully cosy heating! You'll soon see see why this “camping” option is growing in popularity and is so appealing.

Fabulous facilities

Many of our award winning camping and caravan sites now offer Glamping options on-site, providing a wonderful alternative while still benefiting from all of the parks entertainment and facilities.

Not only does our Glamping accommodation provide a stay out of the ordinary, many of our parks can be found in locations that will blow you away. Woodland forests, cliff top retreats and hideouts set within our rolling hills are just some of the fabulous locations to choose from.

So many options

The Glamping options in Dorset really are superb, from yurts and tipis to authentic log cabins, camping pods, traditional Romany caravans, shepherd's huts, treehouses and even safari lodges. There really is something for everyone to enjoy and we’re certain that this break will be unlike any other!

Opt for something low-key or complete luxury, the choice is yours. And they can cater for both families and groups or romantic breaks too.

Mallinson's Woodland Retreat, Holditch

The Woodman’s Tree House really needs to be seen to be believed and certainly puts the glamour into glamping. With a luxurious king-size bed, your own outdoor hot tub and sauna, a revolving woodburner in the lounge and an open air tree-shower, this really is something special to remember forever.

Featured on the Channel 4 show Amazing Spaces and awarded ‘House of the Year’ Grand Designs, the Treehouse really takes the thought of alternative accommodation to the next level.

Mallinson's Woodland Retreat is a luxurious adults-only glamping site lying in 10 acres ancient woodland in West Dorset, where guests can relax in comfort whilst being surrounded by the a truly magical natural environment.

The woodland site also offers two stunning yurts plus a tipi, bell tent and shepherd’s hut, all complete with king-sized beds, hot water tree-showers and many luxurious and handcrafted touches.

Woodyhyde Campsite, Corfe Castle

A 15-acre campsite located in the stunning Purbeck countryside that is within walking distance of the iconic Corfe Castle. Woodyhyde Campsite has recently added affordable glamping accommodation in the form of five yurts (furnished with beds and linens) and a Shepherd’s hut that boasts a double bed, kitchenette and toilet.

The site is well positioned to explore Dorset and the Jurassic Coast, with the wonderful sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage close by along with popular attractions such as the Blue Pool and Dorset Adventure Park. Much to the delight of guests, the Swanage Railway runs adjacent to part of the site so you can get a wonderful view of the stream trains trundling by.

Stock Gaylard, Sturminster Newton

Set on a large country estate deep in rural Dorset, the team at Stock Gaylard have created a number of exclusive sites catering for various sizes of groups. There is a strong conservation and preservation ethos here: all of the accommodation has been built on site and each site is well spaced out to ensure privacy for everyone to enjoy the stunning surroundings. The sites are truly off-grid: there’s no Wi-Fi (although the mobile signal is good) and solar power is used to fuel essential appliances such as lights and fridges.

Couples can enjoy the cosy Sawpits wagon, and there are three further sites featuring custom yurts and even a converted double decker bus! Well behaved dogs are welcome at Stock Gaylard too.
