Holidays in Weymouth and Portland

Weymouth & Portland, the 'jewel' of the Dorset coast was the host venue of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events.

It is a popular seaside holiday resort and is on our list of highly recommended places to visit.

It is easy to travel to with exellent road, bus and rail links from the centre of Dorset and surrounding areas and is perfect for a day out.

Weymouth's fine Georgian seafront is an impressive backdrop to the long arc of fine, golden sand.

The views from the bay are spectacular, stretching across the horizon taking in the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline.

Weymouth's beautiful safe, sandy beaches, rich heritage and spectacular coastline make it a firm favourite holiday destination.

In contrast, waves crash against the rocks along the dramatic coastline of the 'Isle' of Portland.

This is an explorers Island with curiosities of history and folklore just waiting to be discovered.

In terms of accommodation, Weylmouth & Portland is blessed with a range of hotels, bed & breakfasts, holiday cottages, campsites, caravan parks and holiday parks suitable for all tastes and budgets.

When it comes to things to do and whats on, Wemouth & Portland always provides with a variety of excellent family attractions and events to enjoy all year round.

It is also great for walking and golfing alike with its many scenic gardens, walking paths and golf courses.

If food and drink is on your mind, font worry as this is catered for too with a range of amazing restaurants and pubs to sample, many using locally sourced produce.

Lastly, we also recommend you visit one of the many towns and villages in the surrounding area, and for the 'complete' holidaying experience, we definitely recommend you visit the Broadchurch filming location to see why it has become such an iconic landscape on the TV!
